Short Round Costume

Wan Li, aka Short Round, is orphaned during the Japanese bombing of Shanghai. Surviving as a pickpocketer on the streets of his home town, Short Round meets Indiana Jones when he attempts to rob someone. Indy stops him in his tracks. As a young boy, Short Round becomes an ally to Indiana Jones and accompanies him to India to save the world from Mola Ram. The leader of the Thuggee cult plans to use the holy Sankara Stones to take over the world. Even though Short Round, played by Ke Huy Quan, is young, he is extremely loyal and protective. He is not only willing to risk his life but also becomes an asset to Indiana Jones through his knowledge of karate when fighting off the bad guys.

About Indiana Jones

Premiering in 1981, Indiana Jones began with Raiders of the Lost Ark where archaeologist, Indiana Jones, is hired by the U.S. government to beat the Nazis in a race to find the Lost Ark. With the power to make you invincible in war, the Ark is coveted by Adolf Hitler, who wishes to abuse power and use it for world domination. Throughout the franchise, Indiana Jones travels across the world to go on life-saving adventures. Saving the world from the threat of Hitler to racing the Soviets to locate a sacred crystal skull, Indy has no shortage of action and adventure.

Wanting to create a James Bond-like film, Spielberg decided to take on the Indiana Jones franchise after writer, George Lucas, presented him with the idea of Indiana Jones. Spielberg loved the initial concept, and from there, one of the most well-known film franchises was brought to life.
