Dress like Your Favorite Hercules Characters

Browse through all of the Hercules character costumes and cosplay guides. Disney’s 1997 animated musical, loosely based on the Greek hero Heracles, follows a demigod with super-strength as he trains to become a true hero and win back his place on Mount Olympus — and its unforgettable cast makes a bold group look for Halloween. Dress as the sarcastic underworld god Hades in blue body paint and flame-coloured hair, or channel Megara in a deluxe purple dress, then round out the set with the hero Hercules, his father Zeus and the 2014 live-action warrior. Each guide breaks the outfit down piece by piece, with direct links to the exact items.

Hades Costume

Hades rules the Underworld with a fast temper and an even faster mouth, and he is the film’s breakout villain. His costume is built around blue body paint and a spiky blue hair wig, set off with sharp false teeth and black leather sandals, while a ready-made Hades costume set covers the robe and the flame trim. It is one of the boldest villain looks on the site and reads instantly in a crowd, a group theme or a villain squad. Blue paint and the wig do most of the work.

Megara Costume

Megara is the dry-witted heroine of Disney’s Hercules, and her look is as easy to wear as it is to spot. A deluxe purple dress inspired by ancient Greek drapery sits over a long auburn wig and wrap-around gladiator sandals. Comfortable and instantly recognisable, it works as a solo Halloween costume, a Disney-bounding outfit, a couples look with Hercules or the female half of a Greek-god group. Pair it with the Hercules guide to build a matched two-person couples costume.

Hercules Cosplay Costumes

Cosplaying the Hercules cast gives you a whole pantheon to choose from. Hades is the show-stopper, built from blue body paint, a flame-coloured wig and sharp teeth; Megara keeps it simple with a purple dress, an auburn wig and gladiator sandals; and Hercules himself is blue-caped armour over sandals with a Roman prop sword. Zeus can be pulled together from a sheet, ribbon and a white wig, while the 2014 live-action warrior adds a fur-collared cape. Pick a character, follow the item list beneath it, and order only the pieces you do not already own.
