Dress like Your Favorite Coco Characters

Coco is an animated fantasy film from Disney’s Pixar Animation Studios which revolves around the story of Miguel, a 12-year-old boy who transported to the Land of the Dead by accident. While he was there, he asks his deceased great-great-grandfather, who is a musician, for help in returning to the land of the living and reverse his family’s decision to ban music in their lives.

Miguel dreams of becoming a musician, but his family strictly forbids his ambition. Their attitude towards music was the result of his great-great-grandmother Imelda and her daughter Coco being abandoned by her husband to pursue a music career. The family concentrated on their shoemaking business instead. Miguel has become very close to the now elderly Coco with whom he lives. He also idolizes the famous musician Ernesto De la Cruz and hones his guitar skills using Ernesto’s old films.

Each Coco costume guide will give you the chance to look like the characters from the wonderful animated film. Make sure you get just the right look with our detailed costume guide.

Coco Cosplay Costumes

Miguel has a typical getup of a boy of his youth and exuberance. With a red hoodie and face paint to transform your face into a skull, you too can cosplay Miguel from Disney Pixar’s Coco. Underneath the jacket, you’ll need to wear a white shirt paired with jeans and brown boots. A white guitar is a mandatory accessory.

Mama Imelda Rivera looks every inch a matriarch of the Rivera family. She was in love with music and shared that love with Hector, who was an aspiring musician. When Hector left Imelda to go on tour, he was later murdered, leaving Imelda alone and thinking that her love deserted her. She never forgave him and banned music in the family. You too can capture the essence of Imelda by wearing her purple dress with an apron, black boots, and skeleton costume.
