Chucky is a murderous doll who is the starring character in the Child’s Play slasher film series. He is a “Good Guy” doll inhabited by the spirit of Charles Lee Ray, a serial killer who transferred his soul to a doll with the help of a voodoo ritual. He did this to escape being captured by Detective Mike Norris. The animated doll was given to a young boy, Andy Barclay. Chucky unleashed his murderous nature and terrorizes the family.
Chucky has become one of the most popular horror icons, right up alongside Freddy Krueger, Pennywise, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers. He also gained a bride, doll named Tiffany. His character spawned seven movies, with an eighth one planned, which will be a remake of the original movie.

Chucky was controlled by a team of nine puppeteers for the first three films. As the series progressed, fewer puppeteers were needed to bring the doll to life, thanks to radio-controlled unit. Child’s Play creator and co-writer Don Mancini took inspiration from My Buddy dolls in creating Chucky. In the original script, Don described Chucky as wearing red-buttoned overalls, red sneakers, striped sweater, with red hair, blue eyes, and freckles. Meanwhile, the character of Tiffany was voiced by Jennifer Tilly, who also appeared as a fictionalized version of herself in the movie.
