Every year my family chooses a theme to dress up as. We absolutely love doing family costumes, & this year our youngest daughter was adamant about being the little scarecrow! So, we took her idea and ran with the Wizard of Oz theme!
We bought the shells of the costumes, but we always add our own finishing touches. The Lion’s costume was a tad short in the legs, so I added fur calf/ankle cuffs that Velcro’d on. Glinda’s costume came with a chintzy crown, so I made my own out of plastic, hot glue, glitter glue and lots of bedazzles!
The Scarecrow costume didn’t come with any props, so I made her a tiny bouquet of sunflowers, and straw ankle wraps to add a little more to the costume. The other two costumes were really good quality and didn’t need much modification!
Overall, this turned out to be our favorite costumes that we have done thus far, so we hope you enjoy them as much as we did! 🙂
