Rat Fink Car

Rat Fink Car Costume

Posted by Oliver Holman NallPosted ago

This is based on an old hot rod culture. Back in the late 50’s and 60’s, a hot rod car art designer, Ed Roth, made up something called Rat Fink. It was just what it sounded like: A oversized rat in a rat rod. Eventually, his art got famous. I searched on google and eventually found a car that was drawn in the style of Rat Fink that I could base my costume off of. I used a bunch of cardboard, 250 sticks of hot glue, spray paint (black, yellow, and silver), acrylic paint (black yellow and silver), PVC pipes for the harness, and string. For the mask, the hot glue ran out so I used Elmer’s, watercolor paint, sharpies, and cardboard. The car is approximately 4.5′ long, 2.5′ wide, and 3′ tall. I am 12 years old and I built this costume.
Thanks for considering me, Oliver Holman Nall.
