Our family loves classic things. We listen to 40s music and love watching old movies. My kids often want matching costumes for Halloween, which I love! This year they came up with the idea of Mary Poppins and chimney sweeps after we watched the movie.
Much of the clothing was found at thrift stores. A friend let us borrow that amazing carpet bag! The hats were purchased online, and my sons now wear them regularly on outings! I made the chimney brushes from black straws, cardboard, and a dustpan handle. I also made the boys’ ties from my fabric stash.
They had so much fun this year – my youngest especially loved singing “Step In Time” as he bounced around in his costume. They received many compliments as they went through the neighbor trick or treating!
