My kids are obsessed with the horror game, Bendy and the Ink Machine, and with the latest installment dropping right before Halloween, we figured it would be the perfect costume choice for our family. Some items for our costumes, like turtlenecks, leggings, and shoes, came from the thrift store. Others, like the hats and gloves, came from the dollar store. The rest of the items are handmade- Bendy’s head is made from painted flexi-foam, Boris’ ears are pieces of pop box wrapped with yarn, Sammy’s mask is painted cardboard, and Alice’s headband is made from yarn-covered aluminum foil and her horns are formed from salt dough. We couldn’t find white suspenders, so we painted a pair of blue ones for Sammy, and cut Boris’ from a large piece of white fabric. Alice and Bendy’s bows were cut from the same cloth and pinned and glued to shape. We had a great time, and a lot of people stopped to get pictures with us. We were also told many times that ours were the best costumes they’d seen and that we’d “won Halloween!” It would mean the world to my kids if we won a costume contest for something they love!
