My sons and I dressed up as main characters from the original show Pokemon. I was the Iconic Ash Ketchum from Pallot Town with my two boys being my pokemon Charmander (oldest Kyler) and Pikachu (youngest Archer). I hand-sewed both of my boy’s costumes and put together my costume from things I had found. I did do minor changes to the vest which needed sewing.
Both my son Kyler and I absolutely love Pokemon and chose to be our favorite characters from the show. His favorite Pokemon characters are Charmander and Bulbasaur, but he could only choose one so he went with Charmander. I chose Pikachu for my youngest because, if you know Ash, he never goes anywhere without his Pikachu! I only wore one pokeball because all fans know Pikachu will not go in one so the pokeball was only for Charmander.
I made the boy’s costumes out of fleece material. The face of the charmander was mostly done by a black permanent marker hand drawn, and I hot glued the eyes on. The Pikachu tail I cut out of cardboard and hot glued the fleece material to. I then used Velcro to put it on the costume, so I could take it on and off in case he wanted to sit down in the stroller without damaging the tail.
