To dress like Yondu, you'll need a long red leather coat with matching pants and a black undershirt. Additionally, wear a pair of brown boots and gloves, and accessorize with belts, pouches, and Ravager-themed emblems. Complete the outfit with Yondu's signature head-fin, which can be created using foam, plastic, or other lightweight materials.
Yondu has blue skin with red eyes and a row of pointy teeth. Use water-based body paint or makeup to achieve the blue skin tone, applying it evenly to your face, neck, and any exposed skin. For the eyes, you can use red contact lenses, and for the teeth, you can use a set of costume fangs or paint your teeth with non-toxic paint. Be sure to follow safety guidelines when using contact lenses and teeth paint.
Yondu's head-fin can be created using lightweight materials such as foam, plastic, or thermoplastic like Worbla. You can paint it red to match Yondu's fin in the movie. To attach the fin to your head, you can use a headband, clips, or adhesive. Be sure to follow safety guidelines when using adhesives near your skin and hair.
Yondu is known for his tough-love attitude and memorable quotes such as "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!", "He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn't your daddy," and "You can fool yourself and everyone else, but you can't fool me. I know who you are."
Yondu's weapon of choice is his Yaka Arrow, a whistle-controlled arrow. You can find a replica Yaka Arrow online or create your own using materials such as foam, plastic, or wood. Paint it silver with red accents to match Yondu's arrow in the movie. Remember to follow any guidelines or rules about prop weapons at events where you plan to wear your costume.
Yondu Udonta grew up as a Centaurian in the Ravagers world. You’ve seen him in the Marvel Studio’s Guardians of the Galaxy films as Peter Quill’s father, but he isn’t his biological father. Yondu protected Peter Quill by keeping the Ravagers from making him their next meal. From that day forward, Yondu looked after Quill as his own child, but it still didn’t make their relationship a smooth ride.
When Quill turned his back on Yondu, the Ravagers all believe they betrayed him. But Yondu continued to follow his son and realized that Quill as Star-Lord was trying to save their universe. Even after joining up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord was followed close behind by Yondu to make sure he was safe. Even if Yondu was known for being a thief and liar, he protected Quill.
