Vicious is one of the villains who appears in the Japanese animated science fiction series, Cowboy Bebop. He is the main rival of Spike Spiegel. Vicious is a member of the Red Dragon crime syndicate and was once partners with Spike. They became enemies when Spike had an affair with Vicious’ girlfriend, Julia, and planned to leave the syndicate with her. Her fleeing led to Vicious blackmailing Julia into killing Spike. She went into hiding instead of killing Spike. Instead, she had to fake her death to get out of the syndicate. Vicious staged a coup, took over the syndicate, and hired hitmen to kill both Spike and Julia. She was murdered eventually, leaving Spike alone to deal with his heartbreak. Spike goes after Vicious determined to kill him once and for all!

Vicious has a resemblance to Goemon Ishikawa, a character from another popular series, Lupin III. Incidentally, Spike is just like Lupin’s character too. Vicious is tall and thin and has untamed gray hair. He only 27-years-old but appears much older because of his gray hair and pronounced bags under his eyes. His face is considerably aged, perhaps because of his involvement with the Titan Wars. He is typically seen with his weapon of choice, the katana, and his pet cormorant perching on his shoulder. He rarely smiles, and when he does, it comes off as sadistic, which is not surprising given his character.
In addition to Vicious’ outfit, you will want to add a long gray wig and katana. The best thing about this costume is that it’s so dapper you can even wear it in real life! Minus the wig and the katana, of course.
About Vicious
Vicious’ character in the show, Cowboy Bebop, does not develop into something better than when he was initially introduced. His attitude and beliefs remain the same as the show develops. What the show revealed, however, was his life story and his relationship with other characters. Vicious is considered to be the dark half of Spike, with the same indifferent attitude towards things in general. He is ambitious, ruthless, bloodthirsty, and a cruel man. He completely disregards morals to get what he wants to feed his ambitious nature.
He is not above sacrificing his subordinates for his benefit. Vicious has total disregard for ancestors and traditions. For example, he doesn’t show respect toward Van, the senior leaders of the Red Dragon. The Van nicknamed him “the poisonous snake” because of his attitude. Netflix announced that it would create an American live-action adaption of Cowboy Bebop. British actor Alex Hassell has been chosen to play Vicious in the series.
