The Winter Soldier, born James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes, is the character from the new Marvel film Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In the film, Captain America and his squad come face-to-face with the assassin, the Winter Soldier. Later, Captain America, who’s real name is Steve Rogers, realizes that the Winter Soldier assassin is actually his childhood friend Bucky Barnes.
Steve and Bucky went to school together as kids, and then both enlisted into the military during World War II. This is where Bucky was captured by HYDRA who experimented on Bucky giving him enhanced human strength and physiology. HYDRA kept Bucky frozen in a vault until he was needed for missions to hunt and kill others. Known for assassinating John F. Kennedy and Howard Stark, the Winter Soldier must go face-to-face with his lifelong friend, Captain America!
