Best The Wasp Costume Guide

One of the big hits of 2018 was the Marvel film Ant-Man and The Wasp. Far from being a secondary character, The Wasp stole the show in this film and became a star in her own right after appearing in the earlier Ant-Man film. Played by actor Evangeline Lilly, The Wasp is the alter-ego of Hope van Dyne, a successful business-woman who discovers her parents were the original Ant-Man and The Wasp. She is a competent martial artist herself and is responsible for training the new Ant-Man before she comes to realize she will be the new Wasp.

The Wasp has a super cool look, one which you can capture with the following items: Wasp Helmet, Wasp Costume Set, Wasp Wings and Hot Wheels 30-Car Storage Case.

The Wasp Costume Tips & FAQs

Embrace the dynamic and high-tech world of superheroes with our Wasp costume guide FAQ, inspired by the character from “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” This guide will assist you in replicating the sleek and powerful look of the Wasp, known for her advanced suit and impressive abilities.

The Wasp's costume is a highly detailed, form-fitting suit primarily in black and silver, with gold and blue accents. Key features include the suit's armored appearance, a utility belt, and wrist gauntlets. The helmet is another critical component, with its distinctive eye pieces and antennae. For a complete look, include a pair of wing attachments, which are signature to the Wasp character.

Creating the Wasp's suit requires attention to detail. Use a form-fitting black bodysuit as a base, and add on armor pieces made from foam or lightweight plastic. Paint these pieces silver, gold, and blue to match the suit's design. For the intricate patterns, consider using fabric paint or markers to add the smaller details.

For the Wasp's helmet, look for a motorcycle or ski helmet as a base, and modify it with foam and paint to create the shape and design of the Wasp's helmet, including the antennae and eye pieces. The wings should be lightweight, possibly made from transparent acrylic or fabric, and attached securely to the back of the suit.

To complete the Wasp look, add a utility belt with pouches and wrist gauntlets, which can be made from foam or lightweight material. The gauntlets should match the suit and can be detailed with paint. If you're skilled in electronics, consider adding LED lights to mimic the suit's high-tech appearance.

Including quotes from the Wasp can add an extra layer of character to your costume. Some memorable quotes are: "We're gonna need a bigger quantum tunnel.," "You go low, I'll go high.," "I do some dumb things, and the people I love the most pay the price.," "Follow my lead." and "This is gonna be a long day." These quotes reflect the Wasp's assertive and intelligent character, her teamwork with Ant-Man, and her role as a formidable superhero, making them great for enhancing your portrayal of her.

About The Wasp

Hope van Dyne is the daughter of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, who little does she know were superheroes known as Ant-Man and The Wasp. After her mother was killed and her father became distant, their relationship deteriorated to the point that she would one day oust him from his own company, Pym Technologies, when she becomes chairman.

She works with the new Ant-Man, a criminal named Scott Lang, in the first Ant-Man movie – assisting with his suit, technology, and even training him in martial arts, but at the end, it is revealed that the new Wasp suit her father had been working on should have been for her all along.

Ant-Man and The Wasp sees her teaming up with Ant-Man in her specially designed suit, which allows her to shrink herself to the size of an insect, similar to Ant-Man’s suit. Not only that, but the suit gives her superhuman strength and the ability of flight!
