Minions Cosplay Costumes

Anyone who has seen the movie “Despicable Me” (or has set foot in any department store since 2010) will immediately recognize the chubby, overall-wearing, yellow Minions. After making their debut in the original “Despicable Me” movie, the Minions have since risen to stardom with their own movie and merchandise. With the popularity of the Minions (and their obvious “cute factor”) it’s no wonder that cosplayers everywhere are itching to dress like them. Fortunately, Minion costumes can be easy to make. Start with a yellow sweater and sock cap to mimic the Minions’ yellow skin. If you want to take it a step further, use yellow acrylic or costume paint to cover your face and neck. Be sure to add hair to your hat. Gluing black pipe cleaners to the top of the hat would be an easy way to achieve this. Make sure you have a pair of blue denim overalls since all Minions wear them. A pair of safety goggles and black gloves complete the look. If you want to get your friends involved, you have plenty of options! Since there are hundreds of Minions, your whole group could dress as different ones from the movie. Or to add variety, someone can dress like their boss Gru, or one of his three daughters, Margo, Edith, or Agnes.

About Minions

After making their debut in the original “Despicable Me” movie, the Minions have since risen to stardom with their own movie and merchandise. Minions have existed since the dawn of time and are driven by their desire to serve the evilest masters they can find. Though they mean well, Minions seem to be extremely accident prone, which usually results in disastrous consequences for the “boss” they’re serving. Minions are typically rambunctious and have many child-like qualities. They speak a gibberish language, though sometimes a few words of English enter their vocabulary. Minions love bananas, and will typically do whatever it takes to get their hands on one. Be sure to check out our website for more Minion ideas and submit your own photos to our costume gallery!
