About The Hitcher
The Hitcher is one of the many characters that are part of The Mighty Boosh comedy troupe. Played by comedian Noel Fielding, The Hitcher is said to be a mix of Fagin from Oliver Twist and Fielding’s grandfather. He was first created for the stage show Autoboosh and later added to the radio series and TV show.
His backstory is unclear. His parents were ashamed of him because of his small thumb, giving him the motivation to find the Hornet Shaman. He trained in the ways of cockney with a man named Ian, who became Jack the Ripper. The Hitcher, whose real name is Baboo Yagu, is the lead antagonist of The Mighty Boosh. All he wants to do is kill the main characters, is that too much to ask? He has two henchmen call the Piper Twins and is often found lurking around Vince Noir and Howard Moon. He has a strong cockney accent and thinks jazz fusion is a genius invention.
