If you’re looking for a classic character to cosplay at your next convention, look no further than Mystery Inc. member and best friend/owner of a talking Great Dane, Shaggy Rogers! Follow our quick and easy guide and we’ll help you pull off his look in 5 simple pieces.
We began with a Rubie’s 70’s Blond Shag Wig over a Heather Green Crewneck T-shirt. We capped off his look with a pair of classic Brown Bell Bottom Pants and some Funtasma Black Platform Oxfords. Accessorize with some Scooby Snacks and you’re all set!

Shaggy Rogers is more widely known as best friend of the Scooby-Doo, than he is for his fashion sense, so this is a painfully easy character to cosplay. A simple green v-neck t-shirt and some brown bell bottoms and you’re set. His shaggy hair can be picked up at a local costume shop if you can’t grow your own. Despite his being a super skinny guy, there is an episode where Shaggy was twice the man he usually is, so cosplayers of all sizes feel free to snag his look. Accessorize with a Scooby-Doo plushie or a huge sandwich.
For group endeavors, the choices are obvious. Bring in the rest of Mystery Inc. Members, Daphne, Fred, Velma and the star himself, Scooby-Doo. About Shaggy Rogers
Most widely known sidekick and best friend to Scooby-Doo, Norville, “Shaggy” Rogers is just one of the five members of Mystery Inc. An unconfirmed stoner, he is best known for his voracious appetite. Despite his lanky appearance, he can really pack away some food. Most would be surprised to learn that Shaggy is a vegetarian. Of course the constant search for the next meal or Scooby Snacks, distracts him from the tasks at hand. He and Scooby are often guilty of slacking off and being cowards.
Coining the catchphrase, “Zoinks!”, something he exclaims when alarmed or caught off guard, Shaggy is good for at least a dozen “Zoinks!”, per episode. Though a bit of a coward, Shaggy is not without his talents, one of which are his ventriloquism skills as well as his ability to disguise himself. Rumored to be a a gifted gymnast, Shaggy’s natural athletic talent has been known to get his crew out of more than one scrape.
