About Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff)
Born in the country Sokovia and orphaned at the age of ten with her twin brother Pietro, Wanda Maximoff went on to become the subject of experiments that gave her superpowers. Wanda developed various mental powers like telekinesis and telepathy, while her brother Pietro developed superhuman speed.
The twins initially joined forces with the robot Ultron, who they believed wanted to destroy the Avengers to create a better world. When Wanda learned Ultron’s true intent – to wipe out the human race – she decided to join the Avengers to defeat him. After destroying Ultron, Wanda went on to become a permanent member of the Avengers as Scarlet Witch.
