Created by Sarah Gomes Harris and Tim O’Sullivan, Tim is said to assume the titular character of “Duck.” Produced by Karrot Animation and airs on the British Broadcasting Corporation, more popularly called BBC. Though the show was designed as a story-driven animation for 4-6-year-old children, it has since grown an adult audience as well. Premiering in 2012, the series follows Sarah’s adventures with her best friend Duck, a mallard. It revolves around the relationship between the two characters and the experiences they have together.

Sarah Cosplay Costumes

The seven-year-old Sarah from Sarah and Duck is known to be helpful, polite, and often eccentric. Eccentric enough to have a duck as her best friend, at least. Apart from going on many adventures and misadventures with Duck, she also likes to play the tuba and has a fondness for sea cows. One might be able to surmise that she has a particular fondness for animals in general.  Sarah also has other friends apart from Duck. Like John, her Japanese friend, and his pet Flamingo (who also happens to be voiced by co-creator Tom O’Sullivan). She’s also friends with some celestial beings such as Moon, Venus, Mars, and even Rainbows.

Sarah’s quirky, bubbly, creative personality reflects in how she dresses. And this is how you should dress up if you choose to cosplay as Sarah—of course, cosplaying as she will be much more fun if you go along with other unique characters from the show, such as Scarf Lady, Donkey, Scooter Boy, or Plate Girl.

About Sarah

One might wonder why a show about a girl whose best friend is a duck may be particularly good programming for young children. The reason is that the show has “Friendship and Imagination” and “Problem Solving” as its two central themes. The format of the show follows Sarah on her adventures with Duck, but an unseen Narrator, who is assumed to be Sarah’s Father, often interacts with the two main characters. The adventures of Sarah & Duck often involve other quirky characters that need help in solving a problem.

One such character is Scarf Lady, a forgetful old lady who is fond of knitting. She has a talking knitting bag and a sad-looking pet donkey. Scarf Lady’s knitting bag often corrects her when she’s confused. One such adventure Sarah & Duck have been on is an attempt to look for Scarf Lady’s knitting bag when it went missing. Both Sarah and Duck went to several bags shops describing the knitting bag to other talking bags asking for help.
