Ronald Ulysses “Ron” Swanson is one of NBC’s Parks and Recreation sitcom television characters portrayed by Nick Offerman. Ron stars in the series as the director of the Parks and Recreation department of fictional Pawnee, Indiana, and is the immediate superior of the main protagonist, Leslie Knope. Part of the attraction in the series derives from the polarizing chemistry between Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson in the chasm of their vastly differing behavioral attitudes, political slants, and their contrasting work ethics.
