The sequel follows the now grown-up childhood friends as they’re navigating through their adult lives. When people begin disappearing again in the town of Derry, the team has to come together to try and stop Pennywise: The Dancing Clown once more.
Richie Tozier was known as the jokester of The Loser Club. He liked messing with people and making up funny voices. Portrayed by Bill Hader as an adult, Richie becomes a stand-up comedian. He may not be the best comic, and he may not write all his material, but he’s still enjoying himself. Richie Tozier is part of The Loser Club, a group of kids who defeated the supernatural Pennywise in their hometown of Derry, ME. Like most childhood friends, they grew up and began drifting apart as they began navigating through their adult lives. They didn’t make a lot of effort to stay in touch and were more focused on living their own lives. However, when the friends learn that It has resurfaced again, they decide to go back to Derry and face him.
Having always been the funny guy in the group, Richie became a stand-up comedian as an adult. He’s not the best in the business, but he gets a few laughs here and there. He doesn’t want anything to do with Derry, and especially not with It, but his friends convince him to help. Through new trials and nightmarish situations, Richie has to face his fears once more to keep his friends safe. Although the seven friends are now much older and stronger, It still seems just as terrifying.
