His widespread fame came from his popular workout DVDs, the most well-known being the Sweatin to the oldies series. Over the years, Simmons has estimated that he has helped people lose millions of pounds. He has appeared on many shows in the 90s, most notably The David Letterman show. Now nearly 70 years old, Richard Simmons has retired both from his work and resides in Beverly Hills California.
