If you’re looking for a dark and mysterious character to cosplay, consider Teen Titan’s Raven for this season’s conventions. Cloaked in darkness with glossy lavender hair, there is fun to be had portraying this popular character. Most of the pieces needed to acquire her look can be found in your closet. A purple satin sheet could make a passable cloak, and her accessories can be specially ordered or duplicated if you’re determined to do it all yourself. Stick on gems found in your local craft section would replicate Raven’s birthmark.
What’s convenient about representing Teen Titans is that there are at least four other characters to cosplay should you choose to make this a group endeavor. The laid-back Beast Boy is a fine option as he and Raven are very close. About Raven of Teen Titans
Forced to control her emotions in order to reign in her powers, Raven is a serious and cautious character. Often exhibiting the most maturity in the group, she is quiet and seemingly without emotion. She hides behind sarcastic remarks to deflect any attempts at getting close to her. She’s relatable in that like most of us, she fears losing control. Her emo attitude makes her difficult to get along with but she still manages to draw the loyalty of her team members.
Her close relationship with Beast Boy is a sure sign of her more human side. Though they couldn’t possibly be more different from one another with regard to their personalities, their opposite natures attract and most fans believe there is potential for a deeper relationship down the line. For now Raven is content to brutalize Beast Boy with her sarcasm and he is happy to return her attention with his easy going ways and desire to make her smile. Great couple cosplay potential!
