Princess Aurora Costume Tips & FAQs

Embrace the timeless elegance and charm of Princess Aurora from Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty” with our detailed costume guide FAQ. Known for her classic beauty and iconic pink gown, Aurora is a favorite among Disney princess enthusiasts. Our guide is crafted to assist you in recreating her enchanting look, answering your questions about embodying this beloved character for events, parties, or cosplay.

Princess Aurora's iconic gown is known for its distinctive pink color, though it changes colors in the film due to a playful magical duel. The dress features a fitted bodice, a wide neckline, and long, tapered sleeves. The skirt is full and flowing, and it's often complemented by a long, flowing cape and a narrow waistband.

Aurora's hair is golden blonde, styled in elegant, soft curls that fall gracefully around her shoulders. She often wears a gold tiara or headband. To replicate her hairstyle, use a curling iron to create gentle waves and secure a similar tiara or headband atop your head.

Princess Aurora's shoes are seldom visible under her long gown, but they are typically depicted as simple, flat ballet slippers in a color that matches her dress. Opt for comfortable, elegant pink or gold ballet flats to complete the look.

Princess Aurora's makeup is characterized by its simplicity and elegance. Use a light foundation for a flawless complexion, a subtle pink blush, neutral eyeshadows, and a soft pink lipstick. Aurora's eyebrows are well-defined, and she has long, delicate eyelashes, so consider using an eyebrow pencil and mascara to replicate this aspect of her look.

To add an extra touch to your Princess Aurora portrayal, consider these memorable quotes from the film: "I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream.," "Well, I'm really not supposed to speak to strangers, but we've met before.," "Oh, it's my dream prince!," "You see, I'm really a princess!" and "And we lived happily ever after!." These quotes capture Aurora's dreamy, romantic nature and her iconic moments in the story.

About Princess Aurora

The third Disney Princess to be created, Princess Aurora was created by Tom Oreb who drew inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s thin frame and graceful demeanor. Called Briar Rose in her childhood, Aurora was raised by three fairies Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. Originally born into a royal family, the evil fairy Maleficent sought revenge on the King and Queen by cursing Aurora to die on her 16th birthday. Luckily, the three fairies intervened. They choose to raise Aurora as a peasant and alter the curse to put her into a deep sleep, only to be awakened by her true love’s kiss.

Princess Aurora meets her true love, Prince Phillip while exploring the forest and immediately falls in love. Of course, she must be put into a deep sleep because of her curse so the fairies set out to find Aurora’s love to kiss her and return her back to her former life.
