Best Mr. Poopybutthole Costume Guide
Mr. Poopybutthole is a recurring character on the hit Adult Swim animated series Rick and Morty. He first appears on the episode “Total Rickall,” where alien parasites that managed to find their way to the Smith home alter the memory of the Smiths and pretend to be friends of the family. When Morty realizes that the alien parasites can only implant good memories, they use this as a tactic to identify which of the characters in the house are friends of the family and which are not. In the end, Beth questions the identity of Mr. Poopybutthole, a real family friend who just happened to be visiting, and shoots him in the chest. Well ooooh-eeee, what a great costume! That’s what Mr. Poopybutthole would say seeing you in a blue shirt, some chino shorts, ankle socks, burgundy shoes, and a top hat. Don’t forget the googly eyeglasses and the yellow body paint.
Mr. Poopybutthole Cosplay Costumes
Whenever the Smiths tried to remember and think of Mr. Poopybutthole, it shows that he was with Rick and Morty for many of their intergalactic adventures. He also seems to have had so many great moments with the family that Beth couldn’t recall a single bad memory about him. In the after-credits of the “Total Rickall” episode, the family is shown to be distraught in the hospital, awaiting results on Mr. Poopybutthole’s condition. He assigns the medical team to tell the Smiths that he no longer wishes to see them anymore and that he is sorry “they never had any bad memories of him.”
He is depicted as having a sausage-like shape with big bug eyes and a long nose. He always wears a top-hat with his tight blue shirt, gray shorts, and burgundy shoes. Don’t journey the galaxy alone! Ask your friends to cosplay as their favorites, too: Rick, Morty, Beth, Summer, or even Jerry.
About Mr. Poopybutthole
Mr. Poopybutthole was with the Smiths on the day he was shot because he was seeking refuge from his life as a planet-wide superstar in the dimension where he’s originally from. In some of his latest appearances on Rick and Morty, it is also revealed that he is Jewish, as a Rabbi is shown officiating his wedding while he stomps on a napkin-wrapped glass.
After his first appearance on “Total Rickall,” Mr. Poopybutthole’s character is always seen breaking the fourth dimension whenever he appears on the show. His next appearance after the first, for example, is in “Wedding Squanchers” where he is shown after the credits just having finished watching the same episode as the audience. Thereafter, he talks to the audience about the episode while he walks with a cane and takes his painkillers, presumably all caused by Beth shooting him. He ends the post-credit scene by telling the audience to tune in to the next season of Rick and Morty.
