Outbreak survivor Morgan Jones from the comic and television series The Walking Dead, is really easy to cosplay. About the only thing you may need from a costume shop is his staff unless you happen to have one lying around. Grab a tan tactical jacket and scarf with a bookbag and your staff, and you’re pretty much set.
You can further accessorize by adding simple pieces like fingerless gloves or faux weaponry like a rifle or gun. All of these items can be ordered online. For group cosplay, there are a number of directions you can take. Rick Grimes or Carl Grimes would be welcome company, or you could bring back his dead wife and son. Morgan Jones is a broken man. Before the outbreak, he was just a regular working man with a family to love and support. After the outbreak, he lost his wife Jenny who turned walker. He holds it together for a short time to be there for his son, but it becomes too much for him to handle. His son quickly dies due to his reckless actions. Once intelligent, loving, and fearless, now has transformed into a deranged, murderous, and manically aggressive man.
He sought redemption by killing every walker he encountered, but he didn’t restrict that killing to just creatures alone. Morgan also killed innocents and anyone he perceived to be “getting in his way.” He begins to change upon meeting a peaceable survivor named Eastman. Morgan is taught “Akido” by Eastman and becomes a formidable fighter with his wooden staff. His new vow comes in conflict by keeping the group safe, but Morgan stubbornly sticks to his vow to the detriment of his people.
