Dress up in Miguel’s relaxed style with a White Tank Top, a Men’s Red Hoodie with some White Tape to create the stripe, a pair of Men’s Blue Jeans, and Chukka Boots. Miguel has a strong passion for music, so don’t forget to bring along his White Guitar with Guitar Strap to show off your musical skills (or at least pretend like you have some).
While there are many other Pixar characters you could dress like, there is no one like Miguel from the Disney Pixar movie, Coco! Even though his look is pretty simple to recreate, he’s not a simple boy. One benefit to his look is that you most likely already own a few items for his costume. Check your closet for a white tank top, jeans, boots, and a red hoodie before you go shopping! If you don’t own any of these items, just about any place online will have the items to match Miguel Rivera’s clothes. Add white tape to the red hoodie to get Miguel’s exact look. Just about any guitar and guitar strap will do, but you’ll want to find a white one to get the closest to Miguel’s guitar!
Miguel doesn’t go on his journey alone, so grab a few of your friends to dress as Dante the dog or Hector to really get the Coco crew together! Send a picture of your costume to be posted in the cosplay gallery so others can check it out as well!
Miguel Rivera is a 12-year-old boy, from the Disney Pixar movie Coco, that has a deep love for music. The only problem is that his family has a strong dislike for music. They have a generational ban on music and as result, haven’t played it in years. His family believes music brings back bad luck and due to a curse that has been passed down since Miguel’s great-great-grandfather and grandmother.
Miguel’s great-great-grandmother was abandoned by her husband so that he could travel the world and play music. She was left behind to take care of her family and swore that no one would ever have anything to do with music again. Poor Miguel did everything he could to stand by his family, but he had a passion for music that he couldn’t ignore! Once Miguel decides to follow his passion for music, he finds himself somewhere that he never expected—The Land of the Dead! Miguel is given the opportunity to meet some of his relatives and the stories of their past.
