As far as color, she sticks to black so start with a Casual Black Shirt Dress. In stark contrast to the dress, a pair of Faux Leather Ankle High Lace Up Combat Boots look exactly like the ones she wore in the movie.

Accessories count for this cosplay; we suggest an Ultrabraid X-Large Brim Hat and a Fujifilm Fine Pix S4200 Digital Camera to represent Lydia’s unique style. For finishing touches, we recommend Tee Tree Firm Hold to emulate her funky hairstyle.

Lydia Deetz Cosplay Costumes

Cult Classic Beetlejuice has given cosplayers a fun way to represent their favorite characters. Lydia Deetz is an easy sell. One of the original goth girls, she limits her wardrobe to one color, black. Her simple taste makes it easy to copy, as you might already have some of these pieces in your closet. Kick off your look with a simple black dress. As for her footwear, a chunky pair of combat booties will work.

You can’t pull of Lydia Deetz without her large black hat, if you’re looking for an affordable option, we suggest trying the thrift store or a local costume shop. A ratty ponytail and stiff bands will take care of her hairstyle. Strap just about any camera around her neck and you’re set! For group cosplay, you can bring in title character Beetlejuice himself, surrogate parents Adam and Barbara or any other of the zany characters in the land of the dead. About Lydia Deetz

A somber but kindhearted young woman, Lydia Deetz feels grossly misunderstood and unappreciated by her father and step-mother. Being forced to abandon her life in New York City in exchange for a home in rural Connecticut does nothing to improve things. While her parent’s throw themselves into their own selfish pursuits, Lydia occupies herself taking pictures, writing poetry and communicating with the spirits of the dead.

Striking up a friendship with the former owners of her new home, Adam and Barbara, recently deceased Lydia finds herself with friends for the first time in a long time. The once lonely girl comes to life under their care and also gets herself into trouble after nearly becoming the child bride of other resident spook, Beetlejuice. All ends well for the young girl, and with the extra set of concerned people in her life, Lydia Deetz finds herself not so alone in the world.
