About Lyanna Stark
Lyanna Stark is an extremely beautiful noblewoman of House Stark. She is the daughter of Rickon Stark, the sister of Eddard, Brandon, and Benjen Stark. It is also later revealed that she is the mother of Jon Snow. Unlike most women of medieval times, Lyanna is strong willed and can ride horses, spar, and even hold her own in sword fighting. During the time of the Mad King, Lyanna Stark was betrothed to Robert Baratheon. She wasn’t particularly happy as she knew Robert wouldn’t be faithful. At the same time, she was the love interest of another man, Rhaegar Targaryen, the future heir to the iron throne.
Apparently kidnapped by Rhaegar Targaryen, she contributed heavily to the start of Robert’s Rebellion which was initiated as a means to save Lyanna. But at the very end of the war, she died giving birth to her baby in his brother’s arms. Lyanna’s death caused Robert to hate the entire Targaryen House and was never able to love his future wife, Cersei. Lyanna Stark now rests alongside her family in her grave at Winterfell in the Winterfell Crypts.
