About Legolas
Legolas is the master bowman in J.R.R. Tolkein’s The Lord of the Rings who joined the Fellowship of the Ring to aid and protect the hobbits on their journey to destroy the ring. Legolas is quiet, mysterious, and incredibly skilled marksman with his ever-present bow and arrow. He eventually befriends the dwarf warrior, Gimli. The two realize they are fulfilling the same purposes, despite the ongoing hostility of Dwarves towards Elves.
Legolas is a Sindarin elf and the Prince of the Woodland Realm also known as Mirkwood. He is quick on his feet and left his kingdom to help Frodo on his journey through the darkest places of Middle Earth. Legolas was valuable to the Fellowship because he could persuade others to help their group using kind words, intelligence, and the ability to make other around him feel as though they are appreciated. Legolas is not your typical elf, and Frodo along with the rest of the Fellowship never would have made it as far as they did without the aid of Legolas.
