About Casual Mulan

Mulan is a fictional character who became known world-wide in Disney’s 1998 film of the same name. Her character was based on the true story of a legendary Chinese warrior named Hua Mulan. In the film adaption, the Huns are invading China which leads the emperor to declare that one male from each family must enlist in the army to protect the country. Mulan’s father, Fa Zhou, is an aging war veteran who she feels is too feeble to go into battle again, but he is the only male in their family.

In order to protect him, Mulan disguises herself as a man and enlists in the army, even though it is forbidden for women to go to war. Her family orders their great stone dragon to protect Mulan in battle, sending a small, disgraced dragon named Mushu to awaken the great dragon, but he accidentally destroys it and vows to protect Mulan instead as they battle the Huns and try to save China.
