Betty Rubble is one of the main characters of the classic animated series The Flintstones. Full name Elizabeth Jean Rubble, Betty is the best friend of Wilma Flintstone and the wife of Barney Rubble. She is also the adoptive mother of Bamm-Bamm Rubble. The Flintstones was a hit animated TV show that first captured audiences in the 1960s. The television show was set in prehistoric times but assumed some modern flair, assigning the characters some modern conveniences such as telephones and other appliances. Betty is very much like Wilma in that she is attractive, friendly, and often bailing her husband out of trouble.

About Betty Rubble
On The Flintstones’ fourth season, Betty and her husband, Barney, find an abandoned infant on their doorstep. The name of the infant is Bamm-Bamm. After many legal proceedings wherein they defeat a notable pre-historic lawyer named Perry Mason, Betty and Barney are allowed to legally adopt Bamm-Bamm and become his parents. This is a joyous time for them because they never had children of their own.
When Bamm-Bamm has grown up to be a teenager, Betty becomes a reporter for one of Bedrock’s newspapers, The Daily Granite. While she was employed there, she shared various adventures with the pre-historic superhero called Captain Caveman, who as it turns out actually works for the same newspaper in a secret identity. Later on, when Bamm-Bamm grows up to be an adult and eventually leaves home, Betty starts a catering business that ends up becoming wildly successful. She starts this business with her long-time best friend, Wilma.
