A Few Things Before Halloween
Start with the look you like, then choose the details that fit your plans. These answers cover using your own clothes, coordinating a group and making the most of the individual costume guides.
Are these the most popular Halloween costumes of 2026?
These are Costume Wall’s editorial picks, combining current releases, returning favorites, recognizable characters, Halloween classics and crossovers. The entry numbers help you browse; they are not search-volume rankings. Our separate Halloween trend archive explains the Google Frightgeist lists.
Which costumes can start with clothes I already own?
Brock, Shaggy, Marty McFly, Gabby and Donnie Darko are useful starting points. Preview the outfit pieces and compare them with what you already own. You may still want a character-specific vest, hat, wig or small accessory to finish the look.
Does every costume need every item in its guide?
The guides identify clothing and accessories for the pictured look. Some include alternative clothing directions or optional props. Choose one outfit version first, then prioritize the pieces that explain the character. You do not need to buy every alternative listed in a multi-look guide.
Can I turn these into a couples or group costume?
Open the “Go with” icon beneath a costume for related character guides. Ash, Misty and Brock make the original Pokémon trio. Mario and Luigi, Ryu and Chun-Li, Odysseus and Penelope, Wednesday and Enid, and HUNTR/X offer more distinct roles. Each person can choose their own level of preparation while staying in the same story.
Where are my saved costumes kept?
Your shortlist is stored in this browser on this device. It does not require an account and is not uploaded to Costume Wall. Use “Copy My Picks” to copy the names and full guide links when you want to compare ideas with friends.
Do the 2026 picks reproduce the latest outfits exactly?
Some follow a current film or public appearance, while others use an established character look or a practical interpretation. The Pokémon trio uses its original anime outfits for the 30th anniversary. Wemby’s Alien look is an imagined fan costume, and Rob’s guide adds a tank beneath his overalls. Each card names the version and explains meaningful differences.
Will there be another Costume Wall 100 next year?
This is an annual edition. We will revisit the selection as new characters arrive and favorites earn another appearance. The current guide will keep its permanent address, with previous editions preserved in an archive when the next edition launches.
